About the role:
YOURCARE, a leading disability service provider, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered or Enrolled Nurse to provide support to a family in the Glass House Mountains area. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of a family and their palliative child.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering personalised care and support to a palliative child, aged 4, in the Glass House Mountains area. The role involves assisting with personal cares, wound care, and other medical needs during evening shifts from 4 pm to 9 pm (shift times may vary).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate and skilled care to meet the complex needs of a paediatric palliative patient.
- Work collaboratively with the family to ensure the child's comfort and well-being.
- Assist with personal care, wound care, and other medical tasks as required. (rare skin condition)
- Support the family with domestic duties and household tasks.
- Demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to care, while respecting the family's instructions and preferences.
Requirements:
- Ability to manage complex medical conditions and provide person-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Flexibility to work evening shifts and adapt to changing shift schedules.
- Must be able to work effectively as part of a family unit and build trust with the child and their parents.
