What you'll be doing:
An exciting opportunity is available to join the Casual Pool in the role of Registered Midwife. If you have experience in Midwifery and would like to work casually at Nepean Hospita, Penrith, then we encourage you to apply.
The role of the Registered Midwife is to ensure optimal outcomes for women and their families of the service through the promotion of best practice including the appropriate escalation of care and to practice under the supervision of a Registered Nurse if required to work in general wards/units.
You will work collaboratively utilising effective team communication with members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation of patient care and act as an advocate for the specific needs of all women and their families including those from the indigenous population or other multi-cultural groups providing appropriate care to the woman undergoing specialised procedures.
The Registered Midwife will maintain and promote a professional standard evidenced by ethical midwifery practice, adherence to the policies and procedures of the Nursing and Midwifery Service, NMBLHD and the appropriate legislation and statutory regulations.

Selection criteria to be addressed:
- Current registration with AHPRA Registered midwife (division1)
- Demonstrated recent experience and clinical skill in midwifery, including completion of a new graduate Registered Midwifery program or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
- Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care
- Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Ability to work a flexible rotation roster across 7 days week, morning, evening and night shifts
- Demonstrated evidence of complying with Immunisation Category A
