About the Role

  • Provide exceptional evidence-based midwifery care to women, babies, and their families. You will be supported by obstetric, paediatric, and allied healthcare teams.
  • In your role, you will be an advocate for women and their babies and apply evidence-based midwifery care within the inpatient setting. You will be an excellent communicator and be able to adapt to the ever-changing environment of the maternity setting.
  • You will be able to escalate concerns appropriately and collaborate with all members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Where you will be working
Armidale Maternity Unit is a midwifery-led unit with 11 beds, 2 labour wards, and a 2-bed special care nursery. Armidale Maternity Unit services the Armidale community and is the referral service for the Northern Tablelands region.
Armidale Maternity operates a Midwifery-led antenatal clinic and supports the high-risk Obstetric clinics.
You will be supported by the midwifery team as well as the Clinical Midwifery Educator. Midwifery education is provided regularly, and further tertiary education will be supported.
