Position Title: Registered Nurse / Clinical Nurse Specialist (RN2-8 / CNS2) - Drug & Alcohol Services - PFT - Silverwater
Please Note: This position is funded as a CNS2 level. If you have a post graduate qualification and at least 3 years’ experience working in the drug and alcohol area, you are eligible to apply for the CNS2 grading. If you do not meet the CNS2 criteria, you are still eligible to apply for this position as an Registered Nurse, but with a commitment to undertake the required post graduate qualifications within the next 3 years of being appointed to the position. Specifically, we’re looking for a qualified Registered Nurse that is currently registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) with at least 2 years of nursing experience. Importantly, if you are an overseas resident with a temporary visa, please apply. This position will be open to you if no suitable Australian permanent resident or citizen is identified.

Here at Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network, the Drug & Alcohol (D&A) Registered Nurse's role is to provide a high standard of clinical care to the patients of the correctional health centre, with identified Drug and Alcohol health concerns. This includes facilitation and liaison with external LHD service providers, Corrective Services NSW, relevant health & welfare services and any other relevant service providers to ensure continuum of care, whilst in correctional facilities or post release. The role and responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with Network delegations, policies, procedures and operations systems, and in line with both the NSW Health and Network Codes of Conduct.

Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia and a current NSW Drivers Licence.
Demonstrated knowledge and clinical experience in the assessment and management of Drug and Alcohol health concerns of patients.
Proven capacity to manage and relate to patients in a non judgemental compassionate & professional manner.
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills including computer application skills in the software programs used by NSW Health.
Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage workloads within agreed timelines.
Demonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships with key stakeholders.
Demonstrated evidence of an ongoing commitment to self-learning and professional development.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of the Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network.
