$70,049.73 to $98,351.39 base per annum- Pro Rata

    About the role:

    The After Hours Registered Nurse (RN) provides expert clinical care, support and treatment in a community outreach setting for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, in inner city Sydney. The After Hours RN works alongside Aboriginal Health Workers, peer support workers and other members of the Homeless Health Service (HHS) multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement nursing care in collaboration with clients, and a range of other stakeholders. The After Hours RN takes a leadership role in improving access to primary healthcare and chronic disease management for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Clients are assisted to access mainstream and specialist healthcare and support services to improve their health and well-being outcomes.

    The HHS is a progressive and innovative team that provides a caring environment for our staff and is committed to the continuing professional development and wellbeing of all of our team members.

    The position is fixed-term part time, with a flexible rotating roster, including afternoon shifts and weekends.

    Contract date is currently until 30 June 2025 with the potential for extension.

    We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Registered Nurse who possess a passion for person centred, trauma informed and culturally safe care. We welcome applications from people with appropriate knowledge and skills, passionate about improving access to healthcare for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, to join our friendly and supportive team.

    Selection Criteria:

    1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia.
    2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
    3. Demonstrated understanding of the issues relating to homelessness, the impacts of homelessness on health and access to healthcare, and the ability to provide excellent, trauma informed, culturally competent nursing care to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in an outreach setting
    4. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team and with internal and external stakeholders.
    5. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
    6. Demonstrated computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system
    7. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a Registered Nurse
    8. Current NSW Drivers License
