The Position
St John of God Geelong Hospital can offer you the opportunity to complete post graduate studies in Intensive Care within a supportive and professional environment! We are seeking applications from enthusiastic and suitably qualified Registered Nurses to enrol in the Post Graduate Certificate in Critical Care at La Trobe University, and join the friendly team in the Intensive Care Unit.
The successful candidate will have access to hospital resources such as Clinical Educators, and tertiary support. In addition to the support you will receive on the Unit, you will be entitled to paid study and examination leave to support your studies.
This position will be offered on a 12 month part time basis with 60 hours per fortnight (0.8FTE) on offer, to allow the successful candidate time to complete study requirements outside of work. This opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to grow and develop their skills and experience upon completion of studies.
To complete your Graduate Certificate, you will be expected to attend 5 x study sessions per semester at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. Full time study for one 1 year will grant you 60 credit points towards your Graduate Certificate. Additional support will be available should you wish to continue your studies to complete a Diploma or Masters degree.

The Requirements:
- A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
- Registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- An interest in progressing your career in the Intensive Care environment.
- Must be eligible and willing to enrol in and commit to a Post Graduate Certificate Critical Care - ICU stream at La Trobe University.
