Our Intensive Care Services at Western Health are seeking highly motivated Registered Nurses to join our team. Our Intensive Care Services provides a range of supportive therapies to critically ill patients 24 hours a day seven days a week and incorporates high dependency beds. Intensive Care Services at Western health operates at Sunshine and Footscray and is currently offering the following exciting opportunities.
The below selection criteria applies to all vacancies listed:
- Successful completion of Bachelor of Nursing
- Registration with AHPRA
- Minimum 12 months working experience within an Australian hospital setting (not including placements)
- Demonstrate the ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to high quality and ongoing to maintain a culture of patient centred care.
- Excellent and effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work a rotating roster
- Possess excellent clinical skills
Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Sunshine or Footscray

An exciting opportunity exists for passionate Registered Nurses with a postgraduate qualification in Intensive Care Nursing to join the teams at Footscray and Sunshine ICUs. Options exist for you to work in a part time, full time or in a casual capacity.
The Intensive care service at Western Health is expanding to help meet the growing needs of the diverse community from the western suburbs. There are 2 Units at separate Campuses, operating a total of 24 ICU bed equivalents. The Footscray ICU has 14 physical bed spaces, and Sunshine ICU has 13 physical bed spaces that are all specifically designed and equipped to provide physiological monitoring and life supporting therapies to patients with a critical illness. The Western Health ICU service provides care to over 1800 patients per annum.
Footscray and Sunshine ICUs have a strong clinical governance focus with a good mix of medical and surgical patients with utilising up to date equipment to provide outstanding care.

Registered Nurse – Bank

Casual
Bank nurses at Western Health are managed by the Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Unit (NMWU) and are able to work across a variety of wards at Western Health. Bank nurses are required to be available a minimum of one shift a fortnight and are able to pick up shift vacancies as they arise. Shift vacancies are sent out by our allocations team and work opportunities and shift offers will depend on the organisations vacancies each day. Working on Bank provides nurses a great opportunity to develop and expand their clinical skills and to experience a variety of different work places.
- Able to commit to a minimum of one shift a fortnight
