Where you'll be working
Perioperative Services at Hornsby Hospital is a high activity unit providing care 24 hours a day Surgical Specialties include vascular, orthopaedics, general, obstetrics, urology and endoscopy. The unit also includes an interventional suite.
What you'll be doing
Assess suitability, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care of the patient for a surgical procedure in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome. You will actively participate in the safe patient journey for patients undergoing a surgical/medical procedure within perioperative services. This position is responsible for theatre consumables, liasing with the proceduralist as well as monitoring the inventory system for accurate patient reports. There is 1.63 administration support to assist, flexible working hours are supported and personal regrade to Clinical Nurse Specialist supported.

Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated high level of skills with computer programs such as HTRAK, Surginet and R12.
Current Clinical knowledge, experience and clinical problem solving ability in the scrub/scout nurse role.
A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development.
Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
An understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
