The Medical Imaging Department at Townsville University Hospital are seeking an experienced and client focused Registered Nurse for a permanent part-time role, working 72 hours per fortnight.
The Registered Nurse is to provides direct clinical care to the Medical Imaging patients (including inpatients and outpatients), supporting the application of best practice.
Registered Nurses perform nursing care across a range of subspecialties including scrub/scout for procedures and post anaesthetic recovery care, experience in Medical Imaging Nursing preferred.
Eligible Health Workers who move to Queensland from interstate and international jurisdictions to take up permanent employment may receive up to $20,000 (pro rata) in incentive payments under the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive Scheme ( https://www.careers.health.qld.gov.au/working-for-us/workforce-attraction-incentive-scheme )
The service Medical Imaging provides a diagnostic and interventional service to the Townsville Hospital and Health Service as well as to other health services in North Queensland. Interventional services include Radiology, Neuro and Vascular Intervention.
Generous remuneration package value up to $84,9065 p.a. comprising:
- Salary rates between $40.51 - $51.97 p.f. (NG5)

Role requriements
- Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Highly Desirable:
- Medical Imaging Experience
- Experience in Medical Imaging neuro intervention, radiology intervention and vascular intervention procedures
- Scout/Scrub Experience
- Proficiency in Peripheral Inserted Venous Cannulation (PIVC) and Ultrasound Guided Cannulation
- Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
- On call: Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call roster.
- Wearing of Designated PPE: the position requires the wearing of protective lead clothing in compliances with Radiation Safety precautions. Staff will be required to wear this PPE for varying periods of time.
