The Registered Nurse (RN) works collaboratively with the Clinical Nurses (CN), Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) and Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) in the delivery, management and development of the clinical services in the Thursday Island Haemodialysis and Chemotherapy unit.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Sound knowledge of the delivery of renal replacement therapies in the hospital and community settings utilising evidence-based framework.
- Knowledge of Haemodialysis water treatment practices and monitoring.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team approach to patient and family centred care that is culturally appropriate.
- Base comprising salary between $37.46 - $48.05 per hour for part time hours and $74,281.00 - $95,278.00 for full time hours

- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and/or registration/endorsement with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to commencement of clinical duties. Current registration with the Australian Health Practice Registration Authority (APHRA) as a registered nurse and current practising certificate is mandatory.
- Minimum of one-year recent experience in haemodialysis unit.
- It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19 (
