Alfred Mental and Addiction Health is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne. Services are provided by a number of teams located at the Alfred Hospital (Commercial Road, Prahran) and at St. Kilda Road Clinic, Melbourne, Alma Road CCU in St. Kilda and the Child & Adolescent Service located in Moorabbin. Alfred Mental and Addiction Health also works in partnership with relevant local non-government and social support agencies work.
The Role
The Senior Mental Health Nurse Clinician will undertake a direct clinical role within the Community Mental Health Team, focussing on mental health service delivery for clients and their families/carers. The incumbent will demonstrate advanced mental health nurse practice and be an advocate for recovery-oriented practice and family sensitive practice as a key responsibility. As a senior clinician, the incumbent will be expected to provide consultation, in-service training and specialist clinical advice to other staff in the team. The nurse/clinician will work as an integral part of the leadership team of the CMHT, which includes the Nurse Manager, Senior Occupational Therapists, Senior Social Worker, Senior Psychologists and Psychiatrists.
