As a result of continued growth, and our client’s entry into the Australian market, GridBeyond is now looking for a Regulatory and Market Analyst to join their team.
The Position
The successful candidate in this position will help expand the GridBeyond’s foothold in the Australian Power Market and to replicate its status in Europe as a market leader service provider. This will be done by identifying opportunities for flexible and distributed assets, developing a complete understanding of the requirements and inherent risks and conducting thorough analysis of potential revenue streams.
Responsibilities
- Point of contact for the National Electricity Market and establishing relationships with and attending meetings with AEMO and other market participants to identify and influence regulatory concerns and future market developments.
- Providing insight to the National Electricity Market and industry advancements to senior leadership team and analysing needs of the Grid to identify actionable business strategies
- Identifying and documenting registration requirements and submitting various market applications to access relevant revenue streams
- Identifying commercial opportunities and developing a deep understanding of market rules that govern these opportunities, available revenue streams, path to market access, risk and penalties around performance
- Working closely with Australian sales, marketing and customer solution departments in ensuring effective organization prioritization is in order to achieve revenue and client engagement target in the near and long terms.
- Tracking and managing key deadlines imposed by market operators.
- Reading market documents/publications/training material and distilling them into key strategic and commercial takeaways for management
- Bachelor’s degree in related business, management, commercial, engineering field, or relevant equivalent experience
- Candidate will be motivated to participate in an exciting, technology enabled growth story
- Candidate will possess current knowledge of regulatory and policy matters and competitive dynamics within the Australian electricity market.
- Commercial understanding to assess impact of changes in the market
- Experience working in a both research and a commercial capacity, evaluating and producing commercial and/or technical reports and analyses
- The ability to effectively communicate complex information to a variety of stakeholders including those in sales and operational functions.
