Why this role matters
Launch Housing's EFY Foyer programs operate out of residential facilities located on TAFE campuses - at Kangan TAFE (Broadmeadows) and Holmesglen TAFE (Glen Waverley). The EFYF program is an innovative model providing integrated learning and accommodation services that develop the skills and talents of young people (16 - 24 years of age) who are experiencing homelessness, or are at risk of homelessness through providing accommodation, and access to education, training, employment and other support. The residential facility includes 40 beds (studio style apartments) with communal living and support service areas supervised 24/7.
Reporting to the Manager - Education First Youth Foyer, you will lead a team of volunteers and will:
- Be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of a Mentoring Program as a key project
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to lead and manage the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteer mentors, with particular understanding of legislative and best-practice child safety practice and standards
- Develop policies and procedures that ensure the effective implementation of a Mentoring Program
- Develop a position work plan, setting of KPI's, and reporting mechanisms
- Ensure quality project management approaches are used to implement and evaluate projects and initiatives

What we're looking for
We are currently seeking a skilled & passionate individual, someone committed to working with young people who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of homelessness on their journey out of homelessness.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Degree level qualification in community development, including a sound understanding of community development principles, employment pathways and barriers experienced by young people in accessing employment opportunities
- Demonstrated volunteer recruitment and management experience
- An ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of young people experiencing homelessness.
- Demonstrated experience developing relationships and working in partnership, including excellent networking and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to plan, implement and evaluate high quality projects including skills such as attention to detail and good time management.
- Must have current full Victorian driver's licence
