Reliability Engineer – Mobile Equipment

At MRM, we're currently seeking a seasoned engineering professional with a passion for asset management to join our Mobile Maintenance team. As Reliability Engineer – Mobile Equipment, you will report to the Superintendent - Mobile Maintenance and take responsibility for the identification and control of asset reliability risks that could adversely affect our Mining Operations.

This role is offered on a 4 days on, 3 days off roster, FIFO from Darwin.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop, review & manage MRM’s Asset Management Framework, documentation, and processes
• Analyse costs by asset for life of asset improvement, business opportunity or capital replacement
• Manage and coordinate appropriate stock of critical spares for mobile equipment
• Document and implement engineering solutions in line with McArthur River Mine’s Change Management process
• Manage disposal process for decommissioned assets
• Coordinate and facilitate problem solving with key stakeholders, including reviews with department asset owners and financial teams on asset health, cost, and emerging issues
• Support the planning and maintenance department on creation of maintenance strategy for new assets & maintaining mobile equipment & assets to a high standard
• Analyse and report on asset data to monitor reliability and identify risks and improvement opportunities
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement

Competencies, qualifications and skills:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
• Sound knowledge of relevant Australian standards & Statutory compliance for mobile assets
• Previous experience in mining operations advantageous
• Good knowledge of condition monitoring based maintenance practices
• Experience with Reliability Engineering metrics and techniques such as Failure Modes Effects and Analysis will be desirable
• Proven ability to make significant improvements to equipment reliability, plant downtime and maintenance costs
• The ability to steer a maintenance team to improve practice
• The ability to analyse equipment failures and provide recommendations
