What you'll be doing

The position will provide a district-wide research support services to all clinical services. It will be expected to provide assistance clinicians undertaking research projects. This assistance will include: the collecting of clinical research data, assistance with the basic analysis of this data. The role will take on responsibility for day-to-day organisation, documentation and management of research resources and infrastructure. It will also assist by undertaking research under the supervision of a senior researcher. This position is responsible for ensuring all research projects are managed comply with the ISLHD Research guidelines. This includes ensuring assigned research projects have submitted all the appropriate documentation. The research assistant will be responsible for close liaison with those clinicians undertaking research within the ISLHD and the Research Directorate.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria * Tertiary qualification a health or science discipline or equivalent work experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, establish and achieve agreed objectives and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products and their application in research.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake research with minimal supervision in the health setting.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of research processes including qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and critical thinking for problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership with effective communication skills.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence.
