We are looking for a Research officer with expertise in cancer treatment, molecular biology and nano-delivery systems. This RO will work on the NHMRC ideas grant.
Qualifications, experience, and skills required:
Essential:
- Ability to work with NGS technology, handling and preparing complex libraries for sequencing (chromatin conformation capture, ncRNA mapping, chip-seq).
- Experience in gene editing (RNAi, CRISPR/cas9 KO).
- Experience in medical nanotechnologies, with a special focus on drug/RNAi delivery systems. Synthetic nanotech and cells derived structures (i.e. exosomes, microvesicles).
- Ability to work with cell lines and patients' derived cells, with experience in dissecting molecular pathways (i.e. RNAi screenings, validation of drug target(s), evaluation of synthetic lethality).
- Knowledge of tumour metabolism and cancer related metabolic criticalities. Expertise in metabolic assay (i.e. seahorse technology, various metabolites quantification).
- Molecular biology knowledge and ability to manage technologies to analyse DNAs, RNAs and proteins from different origins (i.e. qPCR, bioanalyzer, western blot).
- Hand on experience with animal models (i.e. preclinical testing of drugs or nanotechnologies on mice).
- Ability to run statistics and modelling software.
- Mentoring and supervising students.
- Teaching abilities.
