The Role
  • Fixed Term (up to October 2024), Part Time - 18.75 hours per week
  • Level A Step 8 $97,412 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
  • Port Macquarie preferred (other locations may be considered)
As the Research Cyber Security/Software Engineer, you will undertake research, design and data analysis to support the project lead and team in developing a system prototype supporting threat detection in Australia. The focus of the role will be to apply software engineering, machine learning and/or cyber security expertise in real-life scenarios.

To be successful you will have:
  • A PhD or Master relevant to the computing discipline, computer science, information technology or related areas in cybersecurity, machine learning or software engineering with strong programming expertise
  • Demonstrated capabilities to conduct research in cyber security, machine learning, software engineering or related technical areas
  • A demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders and work as a team to complete tasks within agreed time frames.
