Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is seeking passionate JMOs to join our team in 2023!

Where you'll be working
Tamworth Hospital has 288 beds and is the major Rural Referral Hospital providing services to the North West of NSW.
We are the largest hospital outside the Sydney – Newcastle – Wollongong regions servicing a local community of 60,000 and a referral community of 175,000.
Tamworth Hospital is a teaching hospital for the University of Newcastle and Joint Medical Program, University of New England and is equipped with an onsite post graduate education complex with clinical skills labs and access to the nearby Education Centre, University of Newcastle
The ED is delineated to Level 5 and offers great experience in leading edge critical care medicine.
Tamworth is a trauma centre for the NSW North West of NSW with locally staffed helicopter retrieval service.

General Rotations RMO - You will have the opportunity to undertake terms (rotations) in some of the following areas: Cardiology, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, Rehabilitation, Neurology, Oncology, Renal, Respiratory, ENT Surgery, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, Psychiatry, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Emergency Medicine. The RMO clinical year consists of 5 terms and includes at least one term in Emergency and one term in Relief. We are committed to vocational training and career support; term allocations are based on submitted preferences, training needs and future aspirations.
JMO General Rotation - this is an Intern level role aimed at overseas doctors looking to transition into the Australian system and international students looking for internship in Australia. The role offers terms in Emergency Medicine, Medicine and Surgery.

- Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role (as stated above)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment.
- Adept ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team.
- Adept written and verbal communication skills as defined in the Australian Health Practice Regulation Agency (AHPRA) English language skills registration standard. Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and others members of the health care team.
- Adept good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
