Stanny Temptations Cafe & Restaurant is a modern Thai restaurant located in Stanwell Park that serves modern Thai Australian cuisine. They are highly popular and highly reviewed.
They are currently looking for a Restaurant Manager to join their team.
The Role
You will be tasked with leading and managing the various staff as well as the overall operations of the restaurant. This is a full time role with an annual salary set at $70,000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
Your tasks at the restaurant will consist of:
- Responsible to ensure that day to day operations of the restaurant run smoothly and efficiently to ensure maximum profit and minimum cost generation.
- Responsible for overseeing the operation of the restaurant and to ensure excellence in serving food and beverage in a professional and efficient manner.
- Planning and organising special functions and events as well as purchasing and pricing of goods while staying in line with the budget.
- Consulting with Chefs and planning and organising menu, estimates food costs and profits and adjusts menus.
- Checking quality of food and controlling costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation, minimizing waste and ensuring high quality of preparation.
- Communicating changes of food preparation formulas, standards to all staff members.
- Assist to recruit, hire, select and train and roster staff member as and when require, provide induction and ongoing training to staff in areas such as customer service, sales techniques, understanding the menu - names and ingredients of food, occupational health, safety and hygiene
- Ensure that they are confidently able to perform all job duties and rewards, disciplines and terminates appropriately.
- Developing a customer driven culture amongst staff members and maintain a sales focused climate by focusing on suggestive selling via ongoing coaching and training of all team members.
- Communicating with customers and assessing their satisfaction with meals and service, taking reservations, greeting guests and assisting in taking orders when necessary.
- Ensuring that health and food safety codes, product preparation and cleanliness standards are maintained and that dining facilities are clean, functional and of suitable appearance and that they comply with the health regulations.
- Inspecting the dining rooms, kitchen and storage facilities for cleanliness to ensure the restaurant meets health requirements.
- Maintain record of stocks, ordering food and supplies and managing the finance of the restaurant.
- Manage restaurant budgets and finances in coordination with directors/proprietors
- Maintain business records as outlined in operational manual
- Analyse financial performance of the store with the Directors and create action plan to improve store performance.
- Ensure food safety, adherence to occupational health & safety (OH&S) standards and other regulatory requirements
- Communicate effectively with stake holders at all levels including kitchen staff, front staff, management, suppliers and customers.
- Plan and customise menus to suit customer preferences in coordination with kitchen staff
- Communicate effectively with management regarding profitability, business and marketing ideas
- Manage logistics, sales and storage, Manage internal and external conflict and complaints handing, Manage training and development of staff
- Maintain customer relationships including creating and growing customer base, take reservations, take orders and negotiate price
The Requirements:
To be considered for the position you must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Restaurant Manager with hands-on experience
- Relevant or equivalent qualifications in hospitality management
- Must have at least 4 years of menu planning experience including cost control and planning menu to budget
- Must work on weekends
- Able to pass a Drug and Alcohol test
- Ability to balance high volume periods and peak service times
