About the business and the role
We have an opportunity for a Retail Buyer who has experience, to join our Independently & Family owned group of FoodWorks Stores.
Although this position is based in Lorne, your role is to work with current Department & Store Managers across the 4 stores, to ensure that we are purchasing goods effectively.
Job tasks and responsibilities
You will be responsible, but not limited to, the following tasks:
- Developing relationships with key suppliers & negotiating trading term agreements.
- Forecast sales & stock levels
- Product purchasing, ranging & sourcing (Long Life & Fresh Foods)
- Price negotiating
- Provide tracking reports on sales & gross profit
- Develop promotional programs to assist sales & gross profit
- Ensuring we are up to date with current industry trends
- Ensuring that our wholesale business is also purchasing effectively and using this to negotiate effectively.
Skills and experience
- You will need to have 3 years or more experience in Retail Buying to be considered for this position.
- Knowledge in Italian/European produce would be a strong advantage
Job benefits and perks
Although the position is in Lorne, you may be required to visit other stores.
Other Store locations are Casterton, Bacchus Marsh & Buninyong.

Salary: $81,900.00 per year
