POSITION DESCRIPTION

Shiploader (Store person)

LOCATION:          Devonport, Tasmania

REPORTING TO:  Store Management Team

HOURS                Monday-Friday 38 hour week

THE JOB

As a member of the Shiploads’ crew, you are expected to have a high focus on exceeding customer’s expectations of service. We call this customer obsession. It is essential that you convey a friendly and inviting manner with a “can do” energetic nature.

You will need to be obsessed by customers, observing everything through their eyes. A Shiploader is genuinely motivated by saving customers money and delivering them bragging rights about the savings they have made. This is done within a friendly, fun, and energetic environment where crew are professional but relaxed and thrive on working collectively as a team.

The primary function of the Shiploader is to co-ordinate the receipt and distribution of stock from the cargo bay (the storeroom and loading dock area).
A successful store requires an efficient and effective stock management system. Your function is to ensure that every opportunity for sales is maximised by unloading stock and co-ordinating stock ready to go onto the shop floor.

You are to be actively involved in the accurate stock management of the store. You are responsible for assisting leadership maintain accurate stock on hands, rolling stocktakes and co-ordinating transfers between other stores and Dry Dock.

You will primarily work out of a stores cargo bay but will also assist with stocking the store and where required, co-ordinate early morning or after-hours stock filling.

You will be required to unload stock from trucks using a variety of equipment and will be trained and be a trainer of this equipment.

3. A caring nature with the ability to perform duties and assist customers with genuine friendliness.
4. Ability to perform tasks effectively and efficiently with a high level of attention to detail.
5. Physical strength and energy to perform efficiently with high volumes of goods.
6. Ability to operate machinery such as forklifts, Walkie-stackers, and pallets jacks.
7. Sound mathematical ability in a retail context.
8. A high standard of personal presentation.
9. Flexibility of working hours as required for the role.
10. A passion for retail and a passion for customer obsession
