Department/Unit Specific Overview
The Finance and Corporate Services branch brings a commercial perspective to business decision making and supports the Women’s business performance by providing the appropriate financial and business information and advice, as well as driving the organisation’s business risk management program.
The Revenue Operations department, within the Finance and Corporate Services branch, is responsible for the accurate collection and identification of patient classifications and the subsequent billing, debtor follow up and reconciliation of this activity across the Royal Women’s Hospital. The team works cohesively to ensure a professional patient experience through the various revenue pathways utilising up to date data and processes whilst always being open to identify opportunities for improvement.
The Revenue Officer (Lead Cashier) is a valuable member of the Revenue Operations department. They will play a vital role in the daily activities undertaken within the department and be able to provide support and assistance in all aspects of the Revenue Cycle framework. The Revenue Operations (Lead Cashier) will comfortably assist in daily tasks as well as provide insight into opportunities for process improvement through experience and knowledge sharing.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Timely receipt of cash takings into financial, patient account and billing systems including Microsoft Great Plains, Merlin, Karisma, Zedmed and IPM.
- Assist the Financial Accounting department with bank reconciliation queries.
- Accepting payments and enquiries from patients and staff, via telephone or over the counter.
To be successful within this role you will need to have:
- Demonstrated experience in billing, receipting and debtor management.
- An ability to learn and work effectively with in-house and external systems, such as Great Plains, IPM, Zedmed, Karisma and other health fund and third-party portals as required.
- Exceptional customer service skills with an ability to relate to all stakeholders internally and externally.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Influenza Vaccination Requirement
In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care. Evidence of vaccination is required.
As this role fits into category C of the departments risk ratings, applicants are strongly encouraged (although not required) to be vaccinated against influenza.)
