About the role

We are seeking an analytical, critical thinking Risk Coordinator to join our Governance and Risk team supporting the Dampier Salt Limited business unit.

Reporting to the Specialist Governance you will be responsible for supporting risk owners to maintain currency and quality of risk information and assisting leaders in using risk to inform management decisions within DSL. This role is a great opportunity to partner with the business (Operations and Functions) to support leaders and, risk and control owners to apply a risk-based approach to their decision analysis and core business processes.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Assisting leaders to incorporate risks and actions into annual and multi-year plans
  • Scheduling and coordinating regular reviews of risk information
  • Providing timely risk reporting (including control effectiveness and action status) to local leadership team and relevant management forums
  • Supporting Risk Business Partners to develop risk-informed assurance plans and activities
  • Nomination of risk, action, and control owners to complete relevant risk management training
What you'll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Highly developed communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate with a high level of initiative
  • Demonstrable critical thinking and problem-solving skills coupled with a high level of organisation and attention to detail
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management, ideally with an operations or consulting background
  • Experience in controls assurance and conducting risk and control assessments
  • An aptitude for continuous improvement
  • Strong administrative skill set including project management skills
  • Experience in internal or external risk audit would be seen as highly advantageous
