The Conflicts and Transaction Management (“CTM”) Team within Compliance is responsible for the management of compliance controls relating to investment banking transactions, information flows, transparency obligations and surveillance across the full transaction life cycle. We protect Macquarie in its pursuit of diverse business opportunities.
The reporting of Macquarie’s substantial shareholdings in compliance with global regulatory requirements sits within the CTM Team. We are looking for a new Manager to take on a leadership role within the Position Reporting team.
Reporting into the Global Head of Position Reporting, the Compliance Manager, will be part of the team that manages the regulatory position reporting and monitoring process for the Group. You will both monitor for position reporting obligations, compile position reports, respond to data quality alerts and collaborate with business teams to gather relevant information.
The role requires regular interaction with stakeholders across Compliance, Technology and business groups across the entire organization.
Ideally an experienced compliance practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:
Managing a team responsible for the position reporting process for Macquarie Group
providing advice on all relevant position reporting rules, including interpretation of upcoming regulatory changes that might impact our firm
reviewing related policies and procedures for managing position reporting and monitoring
Assist reviewing the design and implementation of a new position reporting system
Understanding and executing the regulatory position reporting and monitoring process
managing relationships with stakeholders across the firm and comfortable liaising with internal and external counsel (where required)
ensuring all regulatory filings are filed in an accurate and timely manner
addressing regulatory change affecting position reporting
To succeed in this role you possess:
legal or compliance experience gained within an investment bank, in particular position monitoring, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications and a solid understanding of the global regulatory reporting environment
Able to advise the business on complex transactions
working knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements in major global markets
an understanding of business drivers and a strategic capability to harmonize compliance process with business needs
skills in relationship management and persuasiveness
team leadership capability, either direct or project-related
Comfortable dealing with large sets of data and understands data flows
Able to work with competing priorities and a level headed approach under short delivery timeframes
Meticulous attention to detail
strong organizational and communication skills
Flexibility around ambiguous situations
Candidates who possess Chinese, Japanese or Korean are welcome to apply but this is not a strict requirement of the role
