What you’ll be doing:
- Inspection and supervision of Road Management works (new and remedial) throughout the municipality
- Provide high level of customer service
- Provide inspection and supervision of all works carried out within road reserves and other council owned assets to ensure compliance of the Road Management Act 2004 and other regulations, codes and relevant state legislations.
- Ensure private and service authority reinstatement wors are undertaken to a high standard of workmanship and in accordance with Council and approved Infrastructure standards
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:
- Post secondary qualifications in civil construction or relevant experience in Local Government environment or similar.
- High Level understanding of Road Management Act 2004.
- Construction and maintenance work experience in civil and concrete construction.
- Ability to prepare routine correspondence and reports.
- Understanding of personnel practices including those related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and the ability to provide contractors and subcontractors (road and drainage) with supervision and guidance.
- Working knowledge of clerical /administrative procedures and standards.
- Ability to read and comprehend engineering plans,
- Knowledge and application of road and drainage construction and maintenance work standards.
- Current driver's license.
