About the team

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

The opportunity

Right now, we have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Road Worker Grade 1-3 to join our Maintenance & Delivery team based in Moruya, NSW. You will be working within a work crew consisting of a team leader, road workers and plant operators to primarily undertake road maintenance activities across our state network and occasionally supporting road construction activities where required. We are seeking those that reside within a 75km radius from the Moruya depot as you will be on call when required

You will undertake a range of duties to support the efficient maintenance of road infrastructure within New South Wales, including but not limited to:
  • Maintenance of established pavements.
  • Establishment and maintenance of roadside fixtures and signage.
  • Vegetation management including brush cutting, removing trees and trimming branches.
  • Litter removal and clean-up of the road corridor.
  • Incident response and removal of immediate hazards to road users.
  • Graffiti removal from transport structures.
  • Cleaning drainage structures.
  • Construction of new or enhanced pavements.
  • Application of road marking materials.
Road Workers are provided with thorough training and opportunities to develop professionally.

About you

We're seeking a team-oriented worker who has an eye for detail and is used to working in similar environments.

You are a practical thinker, quick learner and great communicator who enjoys being physically active performing outdoor manual tasks involving the use of hand tools and equipment within a team setting. You must hold the following qualifications:
  • White Card
  • Current driver's licence
You're prepared to work outside normal working hours, attend call-outs, travel across the region and stay away from home when needed.

Holding a MR truck licence or experience operating plant machinery is advantageous but not essential.

Traffic Control certification, while not essential would be advantageous.

Wage and Benefits

The wage for this position is Road Worker Grade 1-3 ($1,155.30 - $1,217.40) per week plus superannuation. Benefits include:
