Job Description:
The Inclusive Teaching and Learning Directorate leads department disability reform including best practice advice regarding curriculum and personalised pedagogies, special options, specialised programs, Inclusive Education Support Program (IESP), One Plan, Inclusive Education, Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD), health coordination and advice, Transport Assistance Program, Special Education Resource Unit, professional development and contributions to building workforce capabilities so that outcomes for students with disability and functional needs are continually improved.
The Manager will lead a corporate team of educators in the implementation of the funding model across departmental directorates and South Australian government preschools and schools.
The Manager will be responsible for identifying, analysing and implementing the IESP; including marketing, promotion of and training of key stakeholders regarding the policy arrangements and associated processes for accessing and acquitting funding, monitoring, reviewing and evaluating the impacts of the policy across the department, and achieving strong and successful engagement with Student Support Services and departmental preschools and schools. The Manager will also oversee the department’s accountability framework and analysis of key data, producing high level reports in partnership with the Assistant Director Inclusion, Policy and Accountability.
Qualifications:
Essential: An appropriate tertiary qualification
Desirable: Relevant post graduate qualifications in special education and/or related field.
Sound working knowledge of the educational implications of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, Disability Standards for Education 2005 and the Disability Inclusion Act 2018.
Extensive knowledge about children / students with disability and additional needs including sound knowledge of intergovernmental relations, legislation and the principles of inclusive education
Special Conditions:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) training course which will be required to be updated every three years.
