The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for providing professional and timely technology support to SA Pathology and its customer base by:
- Undertaking a range of tasks involving calibration, planned and remedial maintenance of biomedical and other equipment, devices and instrumentation to appropriate standards and accurately document the results.
- Contribute to developing, planning, implementing, monitoring and controlling in-service maintenance inspections of devices according to manufacturer's recommendations, Australian Standards and Engineering Services Policies, Procedures and Work Schedules.
- Applying best practice principles and contributing to continuous improvement activities.
- Provide technical guidance for the development of junior staff within the Biomedical Engineering team.
- The Biomedical Engineer is a hands-on engineer who is required to exercise technical responsibilities within a multi-discipline team.
- Degree level qualification in Biomedical Engineering or similar field.
The Biomedical Engineering Technician is responsible for providing professional and timely technology support to SA Pathology and its customer base by:
- Undertaking a range of tasks involving calibration, planned and remedial maintenance of biomedical and other equipment, devices and instrumentation to appropriate standards and accurately document the results.
- Contribute to developing, planning, implementing, monitoring and controlling in-service maintenance inspections of devices according to manufacturer's recommendations, Australian Standards and Engineering Services Policies, Procedures and Work Schedules.
- Applying best practice principles and contributing to continuous improvement activities.
- Provide technical guidance for the development of junior staff within the Biomedical Engineering team.
- The Biomedical Engineering Technician is a hands-on technician who is required to exercise technical responsibilities within a multi-discipline team.
- A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant technical discipline.
The incumbent may be required to:
- Travel regularly to Metropolitan and Regional sites, with possible overnight stays being required on short notice.
- Regularly attend Regional service visits which can require the incumbent to be away from home up to one week.
- Participate in an on-call roster, for as often as one week in every month.
