Northern New South Wales Local Health District is seelomg a Snr Psychologist / Social Worker Lvl 4, to lead a new program called Safe Wayz, which coordinates an integrated response for children under the age of criminal responsibility (currently 10 years in NSW) with problematic or harmful sexual behaviours (PHSBs). Safe Wayz adopts a strength based, family focused and culturally centred trauma-informed approach to working with children and families to help prevent behaviours from escalating .
Providing advanced clinical leadership and supervision to the clinicians providing prevention initiatives and early support for children and families to address behaviours when they are first identified, and coordinate pathways into specialist counselling services for children and families who need them. Utilising extensive specialist knowledge and high level clinical reasoning to provide a service of a complex nature in conjunction with ongoing consultative support and collaborative interventions with other staff, management and agency partners.
If you have:
- A four year degree in psychology, being a three year degree with a fourth year in honours in Psychology (or qualifications deemed equivalent by the Health Administration Corporation of NSW) plus a post graduate degree at the masters level or higher in Clinical Psychology from a recognised university or working towards same. Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with eligibility for membership of the Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists or Registration with the Psychologists Registration Board of NSW. OR; must hold the qualification of a Degree in Social Work from an accredited course providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number.
- Extensive specialist knowledge and experience in the area of trauma informed response to violence, abuse and neglect including advanced clinical reasoning and ability to apply professional judgement when performing novel, complex or critical tasks
- Management experience in Human Resource Management, Finance, Workplace Health and Safety, Clinical Governance and proven ability to lead a team to achieve outcomes.
- Leadership in effective communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others
- Leadership to utilise problem solving skills and a multidisciplinary team approach in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care.
