Advanced Buildings are an established construction and restoration business with offices Nationally in VIC, NSW, the ACT and QLD. We are one of Australia's most trusted and experienced Insurance Building and Repair providers and we specialise in Insurance Repair and Strata work involving large and technical projects. We have long established relationships with Australia's major Insurance Companies and Loss Adjusters.
We are currently looking for a WHS Coordinator to join the team based in our Central Coast, Morisset office. Reporting to the WHS Advisor, this role will be responsible for ensuring all work undertaken by Advanced Buildings staff and subcontractor’s is done in accordance with the Safety Management System and in line with applicable state legislation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure an accurate, timely and responsive WH&S service is provided through coordination, coaching/advising, reporting, investigating and follow ups
- Assist in the development and enforcement of standards to ensure projects compile within WHS regulatory and governance requirements
- Ensure all appropriate actions are taken to implement the company WH&S management system in line with policy and procedures and in line with state legislation
- Assist and develop SWMS for employees and contractors including SWMS reviews
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Safety Management System across all stakeholders
- Conduct regular site safety inspections
- Facilitate external and internal training including identifying training needs
- Actively participate in WHS Meetings
- Support and assist site staff personnel and subcontractors through consultation, education and training
- Develop and conduct toolbox talks, safety alerts and lessons learned
- Cert IV WH&S / Diploma in WH&S or working towards completing qualification
- A current and unrestricted drivers licence as this role requires regular travel
- Competent PC skills
- Ability to work in a team setting and autonomously
- Ability to produce written reports when required
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
