With 40+ staff and 1500+ on-hired candidates working at 80+ locations nationally, we are on an outlook for a Health & Safety Coordinator who will work effectively with staff, supervisors, account managers, client representatives, service providers, insurers, and regulators to achieve the business' health and safety goals.
Your Role
This truly unique opportunity will see you joining the team at Australia's largest privately owned agricultural recruitment company. We are forecasting considerable growth over the coming months, and we need a safety champion to help guide us on this journey.
You will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of all our staff and on-hired candidates. This role has a high level of autonomy, allowing you to determine how best to meet our legislative requirements and improve the safety outcomes for our business and our people.
With the opportunity to take ownership of the safety function, you will be responsible for:
Leading business initiatives designed to improve our safety performance,
Continuously improving our ISO-certified Safety Management System,
Providing coaching, training, and mentoring at all levels,
Influencing internal and external stakeholders to "do things differently", and
Managing internal and external resources for injury response, injury management and workers' compensation.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar Health & Safety role and have a passion for delivering projects that drive improved safety performance within a fast-growing business.
You will have the opportunity to travel to a diverse range of agricultural and food supply chain businesses in every state and territory of Australia and work alongside talented, passionate people at the top of their game.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must address the following criteria:
Tertiary qualifications in occupational health & safety, or a related discipline
At least 3 years of recent experience in a safety role, preferably within a high-risk environment
A demonstrated ability to maintain certification of a safety management system
Ability to deliver projects and initiatives that drive improved performance
Communicate effectively with a variety of culturally diverse stakeholders
Ability to influence behaviour at all levels of an organisation, and
Balance strict compliance requirements and the commercial needs of the business.
