About the Team
The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.
The Opportunity
Right now, we have a permanent full-time opportunity available for Safety Environment and Quality Officers to join our Network & Assets Division, Maintenance and Delivery.
The Network and Assets Branch are the Custodian of the regional road and rail network. They manage the assets to deliver safe, sustainable, and integrated services to regional communities.
The Safety Environment and Quality Officer will join a growing team that coordinates the implementation, improvement, and assurance of Regional Maintenance Delivery quality management systems.
Some key responsibilities of the role include:
- Ensure that quality system documents and records demonstrate compliance and facilitate ongoing continuous improvement in SEQ Systems and policies
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with other Branches and Division staff to influence the development of relevant policies and procedures.
- Coordinate the management system training to the business including to coordinate development of training plans and strategies
- Develop and coordinate the audit program to ensure Regional Maintenance, Transport and statutory requirements are met, risks are identified, and managed and relevant certifications and accreditations are maintained.
- Ensure that management system performance data is collated and analysed to identify areas for improvement
About you
You’re a strong communicator and influential team player, working closely with a range of stakeholders to inspire direction, develop skills and competencies across the business and drive change and overcome challenges.
The successful candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or proven experience in implementing safety, environmental and quality management systems including experience to improve systems through audit, review and implementation of improvement initiatives.
You will have strong problem-solving skills, are a self-starter and willing to use your initiative, matched by your ability to influence and negotiate with a range of multidisciplinary audiences.
Ideally you will have a decent level of field experience within the operational safety environment.
The role supports the Central West Region of NSW with flexible working arrangements available. The successful candidates will need to travel across the West and Central West Regions, Driver’s License is required.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is a USS8 – ($104,18 to $111,796) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
