The Transformation, Learning and Capability business unit is responsible for transformation and learning and development to support employees. The Safety Learning and Development Adviser is a new role and key to improving the safety capability of staff. It plays a critical role in developing and delivering the safety and wellbeing learnings.

About the Role

The Safety Learning and Development Adviser role sits within the Learning and Capability team at the Department of Justice and Community Safety. As the Safety Learning and Development Adviser, you will provide support to the DJCS learning and capability team by leading, advising, implementing and monitoring Safety, Wellbeing and Compliance training programs of work. The Safety Learning and Development Adviser will work in partnership with a range of stakeholders together with the Business Unit Management providing a strategic focus upon driving improved safety training outcomes, through proactive, contemporary, prevention led health and safety training strategies, to create and support a safety-first culture.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will have:
  • Experience in a learning and development role, including curriculum development
  • Instructional design expertise including eLearning and facilitation experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Safety, Wellbeing and Compliance systems and processes
Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is mandatory
  • Degree in Occupational Safety, Human Resources, Psychology or related domain (desirable).

Please note, this offer of employment is conditional upon you providing evidence to the department that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccination Certification will be collected upon commencement.

Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department.

Acceptable evidence includes:

1. COVID-19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
2. Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)
