Grange Resources is Australia’s most experienced magnetite producer from its iron ore mining and pellet production business located in North-West Tasmania.
We are looking for a Safety Training & First Aid Officer to provide first aid management, site security checks, health monitoring, emergency response as requested and general gatehouse duties as required. The position calls for a 24-hour response to illness and injuries and work without direct supervision, and you will be maintaining and operating our site first response vehicle, “ambulance”.
Duties in this role will include but not be limited to:
- Provide training and safety resources to create a work environment that encourages personnel to contribute towards a healthy and safe work environment
- Participate in the activities of the mine’s emergency response team (ERT), particularly in first aid
- Ensuring compliance with Grange’s site access controls, emergency management plans, site security, and fitness for work
- Supporting continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve safe work practices and procedures
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum of Level 3 First Aid Qualification
- Previous experience in accident management and patient care
- High level of organisation skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, confidentiality and communication skills
- Proficient computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office application
- The ability to quickly learn other IT processes and systems
