A great opportunity exists for Casual Laboratory Technicians in Malaga.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Perform Minerals Trade Sample Preparation which involves but not limited to operating various sampling and sample preparation equipment as: crushers, dividers, pulverizes, screen shakers as well as packing and sorting samples Duties may include weekend, public holiday and after hours work.
  • Conducting moisture determination and sample preparation duties on mineral commodities involving Preparation of associated worksheets and documentation in hard copies and electronically.
  • Job Coordination – Liaise closely with Sample Preparation Leader and WA Operations Coordinator to coordinate service, inspections and reporting of jobs.
  • Service and Maintenance – Maintain and service equipment to ensure inspections can be completed in a timely manner.
  • From time to time and as necessary conduct inspection of all vessels loading/discharging supervision, ensuring concise recording and reporting.
  • Inspecting, sampling and testing and other operational work as required
Qualifications
  • Formal qualification in minerals/chemistry/technology field is an advantage
  • Previous experience in inspections industry and sample preparation (Preferred)
  • Understanding of inspection purposes
  • Knowledge in Quality Systems
  • Computer skills
  • Current drivers license is a must
  • Forklift operating tickets (Preferred)
Additional Information

Overtime and penalty rates for after hours and weekend work available.

The position may require that the incumbent is seconded to different location for a short period of time or at the agreed roster for which there are additional incentives.

The position has the possibility to convert to a permanent full time role where you will be able to develop your carer with SGS.
