Our client is seeking a SAP Specialist to join their team. The ERP Principal Specialist will manage and deliver an end-to-end ERP functional capability aligned to an ERP Platform Value Stream. This role will be responsible for setting vision, objectives, functional standards, behaviours, and ways of working to create a high-performance functional group.
Key responsibilities- Lead and role model customer focus by treating all internal and external customers with honesty, fairness, sensitivity and dignity, by designing processes and procedures with the customer in mind, and by working together with other areas to solve customer issues.
- Model and lead performance excellence and values-based culture in line with Council’s Leadership Blueprint
- Set value stream vision, objectives, culture, and ways of working to create a high-performance technical group and culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage a value stream team to deliver support, minor enhancement and project functional change utilising internal resources and external service providers.
- Be a trusted point of contact for business stakeholders and an advocate for the ISB Group – understand business stakeholder vision, strategy, challenges, and opportunities.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to reinforce relationships with stakeholders and continually improve the brand of the ERP Platform Group.
- Translate business outcomes into a value stream strategy and roadmap ensuring alignment to broader platform strategy.
- Work with business and ISB stakeholders to define and scope new work. Ensure value/benefits are identified and incorporated into delivery planning via a prioritised product backlog. Track and communicate value delivered.
- Collaborate with peers in the ERP Platform team to ensure services are co-ordinated and integrated.
- Provide internal consulting advice to business and ISB stakeholders – harnessing SAP capabilities and best practice processes to meet business needs and exceed expectations.
- Govern alignment of external service provider functional deliverables as a business & ERP subject matter expert to ensure solutions meet business expectations and are compliant with internal standards and policies.
- Collaboration with the OCM Specialist to assist in the planning, development and roll out of OCM deliverables.
- Utilising Agile ways of working and ITIL Service Management principles develop, monitor, measure and improve support and enhancement processes for the SAP application areas in scope for the value stream.
- Develop and manage standards for SAP architecture, system configuration, functional unit testing and unit testing for delivered and vendor delivered SAP system configuration and vendor delivered functional unit testing for SAP system customisation.
- Provide expert architecture and functional advice in the delivery of value stream services.
- Demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Blueprint to deliver performance excellence and a values-based culture.
- Highly developed verbal, written, interpersonal, presentation, facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills. Proven experience in building strong working relationships with all levels of seniority and demonstration of exceptional customer centricity.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing and management skills – understanding how others think and act – ability to smoothly deliver outcomes through strong business, team and supplier partnerships.
- Ability to skilfully approach multiple sources to solve problems – demonstrating advanced skill and keen insight in gathering, sorting and applying key information.
- Creates competitive and breakthrough plans for innovation; generates an attitude of enthusiastic expectancy in others regarding change and challenge.
- Significant experience of working in SAP ECC and S/4 HANA environments in SAP functional consulting and or SAP solution architecture.
- Demonstrated significant experience of successfully managing SAP functional teams including the implementation of industry frameworks (e.g. ITIL or SAP Activate) and functional analysis and configuration services in a complex organisation.
- Demonstrated practical knowledge and experience in contemporary/iterative IT delivery methods such as Agile, Scrum, DevOps and the practices, ceremonies and delivery governance associated with these delivery methods.
- Significant experience in end-to-end SAP project implementations in a process driven environment in the capacity of functional lead/functional analyst/business analyst.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in SAP finance processes, cost models and budgeting including configuration of SAP finance modules (e.g. FI, CO, TR, CM, IM, BPC – Budgeting Planning and Consolidation) and a good working understanding of integration points within other modules of SAP.
- Demonstrated experience in working in a business function related to the value stream.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant or related discipline
- Business analysis and or business process analysis training and certification in a recognised framework.
- Demonstrated experience and industry training and certifications in SAP module functional analysis and configuration.
