This position works a Split Shift from 7:30am to 9:00am and 3:00pm to 4:30pm weekdays during the school term. There is not a requirement to work during the school holidays although such periods will be paid on a pro-rata basis.
You will be responsible for the safe and timely transport of our students to and from school on a daily basis during school term.
Noble Park Secondary College is a Year 7-12 co-educational College with it's multicultural students speaking 46 languages.
The successful applicant must hold the following licenses / certifications or be willing to obtain them prior to commencement:
- Valid automatic driver’s license (MR or HR) and current driver’s licence issued by VicRoads and not have either of these licences suspended or cancelled by VicRoads or the Police Department.
- Driver Accreditation with VicRoads (to carry fee-paying passengers).
- Working with Children Check valid for employment.
- Level 2 First Aid Certificate (or higher).
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated proficiency and reliability in driving a School Bus (both manual and automatic) Capacity to undertake routine support tasks across a range of functions in one or more work areas within a school environment.
- Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively with members of the school community including students and the capacity to provide support and/or attendant care to students where necessary.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of office systems, software or technical equipment as relevant to the position.
- Capacity to work cooperatively with a range of people including teachers, education support, students and parents.
- A commitment to professional learning and growth.
Qualities / Experience we are looking for:
- Experience in driving a 25-seat bus in a safe manner, with a good driving record.
- Be punctual and reliable
- Enjoy driving and working with students and have a caring and positive attitude.
- Be able to work unsupervised, use your initiative and be proactive in your actions.
Responsibilities:
- Transport children to and from school in the mornings and afternoons
- Verify permissions for children who ride home with friends
- Maintain a clean and mechanically-sound bus at all times
- Obey all traffic laws
- Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route
- Ensure safety of all students
- Assist students with getting on and off the bus when required
