Position details:
St Mary Star of the Sea College is seeking a highly competent, committed and student-centred educator to join the vital and vibrant learning area of Secondary English. This position will be full-time ongoing, commencing 1st January 2023.
St Mary Star of the Sea College, Carnarvon is a Kindergarten to Year 12 composite co-educational school with 340 students. All teachers at St Mary Star of the Sea College are expected to use an explicit instruction pedagogy.
Selection Criteria
- The ability to teach Secondary English, applicants should have a strong understanding of the latest WA curriculum and pedagogical trends in this area.
- Have high expectations about students’ ability to learn.
- Display excellent classroom management, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate a high level of expertise in integrating digital technologies to enrich teaching and learning experiences.
- Demonstrate the capability to work collaboratively with other staff to promote student learning and to enhance one’s own teaching instruction and the learning culture of the College.
- Demonstrate the skills to contribute to and promote a strong staff culture and work collaboratively with students, staff, parents and Parish to build community in a growing Pre-K to 12 Catholic College.

This position and our school qualifies teachers to be eligible for a reduction of your HELP debt with the “Reduction of Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) debts for teachers in very remote areas” incentive on offer from DESE.
Qualifications Required:
Have a minimum four year tertiary qualification.
A Current TRBWA registration
A current Working with Children Card
Must be legally permitted to work in Australia
