What success looks like in this role:

Role – Security & Network Engineer

Experience – 4 to 8 years

Work Location – Primary location is Melbourne. Open to other locations within Australia as well.

Must be an Australian Citizen. Having a NV1/NV2 clearance or the ability to achieve it.

Position Overview:

• In this role, it is expected that the Security & Networking Engineer will build and foster relationships across all Unisys support towers and with clients. Further, they will need to engage with third party suppliers to ensure integration across all supported and integrated networks. The goal is to become an expert on all underlining networks and security Infrastructure technologies.
• This role will be supporting the Unisys Cloud and Infrastructure Team and client Account Team by having a deep understanding of network and security infrastructure. The role includes implementation and support of an end-to-end solutions and management of stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met.
• Become a trusted advisor to our clients and internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) in network and security.

What success looks like in this role:

• Seen as an SME across at least one of the three key technologies:
• F5 Load balance and supported module such as ASM
• Palo Alto Firewalls
• Cisco Networking LAN and SDWAN
• Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 support and assists with some project implementation within the networking environment.
• Understanding of network security architectures, topologies, and security services and protocols (e.g. Proxy, IPS, firewalls, load balancers, WAF, VPNs, NTP, DNS etc.)
• Partner with the architects (Infrastructure/Solution) to implement a solution that meets all business and technical requirements.
• Perform build, upgrades, and troubleshooting of network and network security devices and software.
• Ensures proper documentation for the corporate knowledgebase, including design, procedural and lessons learned. This also includes maintaining and updating existing documentation.
• Creates complex design artefacts including network layouts and logical/physical designs.
• Work to create and maintain high levels of client satisfaction and trust.
• Be Able to work as a member of a client delivery team.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

• A minimum of 4-years of Experience in network and security infrastructure
• Knowledgeable in network security procedures, best practices, and implementation
• Demonstrated Experience in one or more of the three key technology fields:

• Palo Alto Firewalls
• F5 Load balancers and their advanced feature modules such as the Application Security Manager (ASM)
• Cisco LAN and WAN networking technologies including supporting Cisco SDWAN solutions.
• Highly knowledgeable on security and network tools including: network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Well versed in security architectures, topologies and risk mitigation techniques and topologies.
• Excellent documentation skills are required
• Advanced Host and Network Troubleshooting skills – TCP dumps, Network Debug Tools, etc…
• Work collaboratively with client and Unisys technical staff ensuring all changes are fit for purpose
• Plan and manage technical activities including deployment pilots, transition planning and proof of concept testing
• Ability to work within Architectural and Government regulatory frameworks
• Maintains on-call availability to respond to network issues and up-time; must be flexible and available with the scheduling
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science
• Operations framework knowledge: e.g. ITIL Framework
• Understanding of Australian security standards outlined in the ISM and PSPF
