A bit about the role

We’re looking for a Security Operations Analyst to join our Technology Operations team based in Perth on a permanent, full-time basis. Working within a cross-functional team, focussing on securing our organisation and the products we sell, the Security Operations Analyst is critical to how we protect our sensitive and customer data. It is expected that the Security Operations Analyst will contribute heavily to developing our strategies to continually improve our Security controls.

As the Security Operations Analyst, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Identifying, developing, and proposing enhancements to existing processes and operations.
  • Track and maintain operational security metrics to enable reporting to senior management.
  • Perform maintenance and upgrades of existing security technologies.
  • Assist in the creation and review of key security policies.
  • Respond to SIEM alerts.
  • Escalate positive findings to TechOps and other groups for RCA or remediation.
  • Assist in monitoring security alerts for potential events/incidents trending and historical analysis and ensuring all incident reports are complete and written within standard operations.
  • Conduct research to maintain and expand knowledge on the latest cybersecurity technologies and standards, and the threat landscape.
  • Contributes to the review of compliance and updating of cyber security policies, architectures, standards, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a security calendar of events and achieve required outcomes, e.g., penetration testing activities, security awareness training etc.

We’d like you to have

  • Appropriate Cyber/Information Security related certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, SAN GSEC, or OSCP.
  • Experience in applying vulnerability management to distributed and could native SaaS software platforms.
  • Experience with common information management and security frameworks such as ISO 2700x and ACSC Essential 8.
  • Demonstrated ability to detect and analyse Cyber Security incidents to determine the impact and severity of an event and articulate the business impact, risks and treatment strategies.
  • Experience with IDS/IPS, SIEMs and other information security tools.
  • Demonstrates ability to react quickly and decisively in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with the IT organization, project and application development teams, management, and business personnel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and principles as a means of relating business needs to security controls.
