About the role
We are currently seeking a qualified industrial designer to join our small joinery & furniture workshop on a full-time basis, for architectural joinery, furniture and high-end cabinet making.
- Immediate start.
- The successful applicant will need to develop concepts & designs specifically relating to furniture but not limited to solid timber furniture.
- 3d drawing of furniture including programming for 5 axis cnc operation.
- Excellent working conditions with new Biese 5 axis CNC machine.
- This is a long term position for the right applicant who has the right work ethic, attention to detail and motivation.
- Great opportunities for further skill development.
- Hours will be on a Monday-Friday basis from 7.00am -3.30pm with some weekend work and overtime might be required.
- Then only annual earning $72,800 plus 10.5% superannuation.
- The workshop is located in Wingfield, South Australia.
- Willingness to take directions and apply these in the workplace.
- Trouble shoot and identify errors or adjustments required to custom joinery.
- Assist in the training and development of apprentices.
- High attention to detail.
- Time management skills to maintain production timeline).
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working in the furniture manufacturing industry or joinery.
- Proficiency in 3d CAD drawings.
- Programming of 5 axis cnc tool path and machining.
- Experience with BSolid interface on Biesse 5 axis CNC.
- Trade qualifications in furniture/cabinet making/joinery.
- Experience operating hand tools, woodworking machinery (essential) and 5-Axis CNC machinery.
- Able to read, understand and execute architectural drawings and shop drawings.
- High level of attention to detail and care of high-end products.
- A sound understanding of workplace safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
