Role Overview:
- Looking for experienced Female Support Workers with a mental health background.
- Goal is to support participants in achieving their goals and improving their lives.
- Participants’ ages range from 7 to 64, with various physical and psycho-social disabilities.
- Community-based role with tasks like transportation, assisting with personal care, supporting group activities, and implementing mental health strategies.
- Utilize a strength based and person-centered approach.
Examples of what your day-to-day job may look like and things we might do with participants:
- Helping to live independently by assisting with gardening or general cleaning.
- Improve physical health supporting them to attend a gym or outdoor exercise.
- Supporting in busy social situations by going to a local shopping centre together.
- Meeting at their homes for a cup a tea and chat about how they are doing.
- Helping with daily living tasks such as grocery shopping, food preparation or attending medical appointments.
- Going for walks in the park enjoying nature.
- Helping with personal admin tasks such as Centrelink, paying amenities or looking for suitable housing.
