Duties and Responsibilities:
Carry out assigned activities within the team from project start-up to project close-out.
Prepare documentation as per Client’s expectations.
Perform advanced acoustic design calculations and modelling.
Support to develop acoustic tools.
Ensure work is completed to a high standard, consistency of work quality and that all work is carried out in accordance with applicable standards, guidelines, and the basis of design.
Collaborate closely with internal and external project design teams and stakeholders to coordinate design and documentation.
Build ongoing and lasting relationships with current and new clients.
Support for the proposed digital expansion.
Undertake, organise and supervise acoustic measurements on site, when required.
Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment.
Managing assigned work to meet project needs and proactively working with other team members to ensure that project goals are met.
Skills and Experience:
A relevant engineering, science, architecture qualifications or similar (must be recognised by Engineers Australia).
5+ years’ experience in Acoustic Engineering.
It will be considered favourable that you are a member of the Australian Acoustical Society and / or relevant industry organisations.
Solid understanding of acoustic principles.
Experience and good knowledge of acoustic engineering software (e.g. SoundPlan, CadnaA, Odeon, EASE, INSUL or similar).
Programming skills (e.g. MATLAB, Python, VBA or similar) and 3D modelling (e.g. Autocad, Sketchup, GIS) are also beneficial.
Demonstrated skills managing projects and liaising with clients.
Excellent verbal and technical report writing skills.
Proven track record within the building services industry.
Working knowledge and understanding of relevant acoustic standards and guidelines.
High level of direct involvement in delivering large scale projects.
Excellent team work and communication skills.
