SENIOR ASSOCIATE - FAMILY LAW
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Associate to join our Dispute Resolution team in Sydney office. The successful applicant will have over 5 years of experience working in a similar role in family law.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete management and responsibility of various family law matters including complex parenting matters including international relocation matters and cases involving violence towards children and their parents; complex property matters including acting for high net worth individuals, spouse maintenance applications, child support and child maintenance applications, divorces and financial agreements;
- Appear in Court including attending procedural hearings and conciliation conferences;
- Preparing for and appearing at interim hearings either as advocate or instructor;
- Prepare and draft legal documents in a concise and effective manner;
- Work closely and provide timely updates to your clients in relation to their matter. This entails providing legal advice to each client to suit their level of understanding;
- Preparing and organising mediation in Family Court proceedings;
- Knowledge of Court Rules;
- Management of own files in relation to Court timetable;
- Supervision and mentoring of staff;
- Time recording and billing;
- Marketing and business development activities including an expectation of referral of new work to the family law team and firm as a whole; and
- Develop and maintain strong professional working relationships with clients, including effective and regular communication and managing the client's expectations.
