The Opportunity
Due to growth, we are looking for an Associate Mechanical Engineer for our Melbourne office. Principally, the focus for this role will be leading and managing project teams to design and deliver projects on behalf of our clients in both the Public and Private sector.

- Project lead medium to large size building engineering design including project resources and delivery management.
- Provide design expertise on single and multi-disciplinary projects.

- Communicate effectively with all external (clients, authorities) and internal (colleagues, managers).
- Build solid client relationships and recognize business development opportunities.
- Be a mentor to junior engineers in the team including technical advice and soft skills.

- Contribute to the development of the business unit against strategic goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a friendly team environment.
- A passion for the buildings industry and desire to progress your sound technical knowledge and status as a trusted engineer.
- Familiarity with other Building Services disciplines with ability to engage with those team members and evaluate design solutions.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7+ years' experience working within the building services sector utilising Australian building codes and standards.
- A track record of effectively handling competing priorities, prioritising work, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Well versed across a range of building sectors, e.g., commercial, health, laboratory, pharmaceutical, education, aviation, or defence, Health sector advantageous.
- Experience with mechanical building services engineering design and the various types of mechanical services systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant Australia Standards and Building Code of Australia.
- Excellent time management, written and verbal communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Registered Building Practitioner / Professional Engineer qualifications and / or Engineers Australia chartership would be advantageous.
- Engineering project leading / management skills would be highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of project finance and commercials.
