The Corporate Services Division provides a range of high-level services and support for QRA to achieve its strategic priorities. These services include finance, governance, procurement, human resources, workplace health and safety and facilities services as well as having a role in the frontline delivery of the grant programs.
The Assurance Team is responsible for the delivery of QRA's internal audit and operational assurance functions across QRA's four Divisions: Operations; Resilience and Recovery; Strategy and Engagement and Corporate Services with a key focus on providing internal audit procedures over QRA's Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) Management System, a controls-based process that QRA must apply in developing the estimate of disaster reconstruction costs as the basis of an annual claim for Commonwealth grant funding towards reconstruction costs.
- Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders that contribute to or have necessary involvement in QRA's assurance and governance functions.
- Conduct operational assurance reviews on QRA funded projects in accordance with program funding guidelines.
- Prepare high quality work papers which accurately reflect the work performed and supports findings and recommendations.
- Actively contribute to QRA's response to external audit of grant programs administered by QRA.
- Participate in post-implementation reviews and reporting of management actions in relation to recommendations raised by audit, including external audit.
- Present and negotiate audit findings and recommendations to Senior Management and key internal and external stakeholders where required.
- Contribute to the annual internal audit plan in collaboration with the Principal Advisor, Manager and external service provider.
- Conduct internal audit and governance engagements across QRA to agreed standards and within agreed timeframes.
- Ensure that QRA processes and procedures are in compliance with legislation, accounting and auditing standards, funding guidelines and internal organisational policies.
- This role may be required to travel within Queensland on occasion to meet with stakeholders.
- Opportunities to travel post disaster events may be required.
