Job description

Responsibilities:


- Develop secure, well-tested, high-performance, and top-quality code
- Lead the technical design and implementation of software products within a development team
- Take ownership of issues and coordinate efforts to meet delivery timescales and milestones
- Review code developed by fellow developers and provide valuable feedback to ensure adherence to best practices
- Share knowledge through the creation of technical documentation, write-ups, and presentations
- Collaborate actively with product owners, stakeholders, technical specialists, and cross-functional teams to expedite development processes
- Identify opportunities for improvement in software development, engineering, security, and testing methodologies, processes, and tools
- Cultivate specialised expertise in relevant programming languages, tools, and techniques to deliver effective solutions

Requirements:


- Minimum of 5 years of extensive software development experience, including leadership roles
- Proficiency in one or more Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies such as Pulumi, Terraform, Puppet, AWS CDK, or AWS CloudFormation
- Experience utilizing GitLab or similar CI/CD platforms
- Proven track record of delivering timely and high-performance software solutions within DevOps teams
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical customers across government, academic, and commercial environments
- Highly desirable: Experience with AWS and/or Azure
- Highly desirable: Proficiency in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters, as well as familiarity with OpenStack
- Strong ability to articulate technical and business concepts through written communication or in-person engagements with customers, internal teams, and executives
- Self-motivated and capable of working remotely with minimal supervision, utilising collaboration tools to achieve technical and business objectives
- Australian NV2 clearance is a must for this role and On site work will be required
