GHD has an exciting leadership opportunity for a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Northern NSW Structures team. The specialist bridges team are experiencing strong demand for its services throughout Newcastle and Northern NSW and created this new opportunity. This role will see you working on a range of transport infrastructure projects including road and rail bridges and other civil structures.
Working with the Northern NSW Structures Team you will provide engineering design and technical guidance, review work, manage projects and project teams, as part of a highly regarded multi-discipline team.
Key responsibilities will include:
Undertake engineering investigations and design of bridges and other civil structures, and manage other bridge engineers and drafters.
Coordinate structural design activities with other disciplines and integrate into a multi-discipline team.
Technical report writing following both client and GHD guidelines.
Perform site inspections and prepare site surveillance reports.
Prepare proposals and pursue opportunities with clients in conjunction with the Team Lead and Structures Manager.
Undertake verification and technical review of projects, including investigations, inspections, engineering analysis, design and documentation.
Undertake project management, including financial management of projects, timely and clear reporting and recording.
Establish, develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship with the GHD Bridge Service line.
Support and mentor team members to facilitate a learning and collaborative environment.
What you will bring to the role:
Highly motivated, you will be degree qualified with 7+ years' experience in Engineering relevant to this position.
Extensive practical experience in the design of bridges. TfNSW and ARTC bridge design experience desirable.
Proven project and design management skills within a consulting environment.
Proactive, innovative and results driven with excellent communication skills.
Proven ability to work cohesively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Proven ability in mentoring and training of junior engineers.
Bachelor's degree qualifications in a civil or structural engineering discipline.
