The Opportunity
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 4/5 Broadcasting Senior Administrative Officer within the Parliamentary Broadcasting section, Digital Recording Services Branch. Parliamentary Broadcasting provides a range of broadcasting services (television, audio and AV) to the Australian Parliament. We are looking for a competent and enthusiastic person to join and guide the administration team that support and coordinate the operational audio, video and technical staff working in a live broadcast environment.

The successful candidate will need excellent attention to detail, communication and problem-solving skills, be customer focused, organised and able to deal efficiently with last minute requests in an environment of constantly changing priorities. They will need a demonstrated knowledge of computer-based systems, database applications, spreadsheets and rostering systems and will need to work as part of a small, dedicated team with a commitment to excellence.
Job Specific Requirements
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.

Duty Statement
Classification: Parliamentary Service Level 4/5
Branch: Digital Recording Services Branch
Section: Parliamentary Broadcasting
Immediate supervisor: Broadcasting Administration Manager
Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 4/5 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Liaise with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders on operational and administrative matters of varying complexity.
2. Provide guidance and advice across the team and the broader section regarding matters of policy, procedures and operational processes, supporting a cohesive and collaborative approach and culture.
3. Provide information and advice to stakeholders while determining and allocating resources to ensure seamless service for all clients.
4. Undertake a range of processing, administrative and scheduling tasks by making and optimising the use of departmental applications, databases, and systems.
5. Develop a sound working knowledge of the range of services and equipment offered by the section, as well as techniques and approaches to support high quality customer service.
6. Acquire and maintain technical and operational skills to support Broadcasting staff during periods of peak workload.
7. Adopt and apply a continuous improvement focus, facilitating the ongoing development and implementation of consistent, flexible and efficient processes that accommodate evolving section and stakeholder needs and requirements.

Currently, the salary range for this position is $74,730 - $88,858 per annum.
Conditions of Employment
Employment opportunities at Department of Parliamentary Services are subject to a range of conditions prescribed in the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 which include:
- Australian citizenship - to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- Security clearance and character clearance - the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
- Health assessment - a pre-employment health assessment will be required where there are physical or medical requirements for the role.
