An amazing opportunity for you to join a leading Private Building Certifier consultancy on the Gold Coast.
This role will allow you to provide specialist technical advice to applicants with regards to compliance with the Building Code of Australia, Relevant State Building Regulations/Act and Planning/Development Act and Regulations, as well as other applicable state legislation.
The position is primarily for on-site non-mandatory inspections (including but not limited to waterproofing, fire penetrations, framing etc) on building sites under construction and secondarily to prepare inspection reports.
About the role:
- Undertake technical compliance reviews of project designs and desktop reviews and/or site work including project and meetings as well as providing response to queries.
- Assist in coaching and mentoring of junior employees.
- Undertake compliance audits of existing buildings, workplaces and built environment.
- Prepare technical reports as necessary.
- Where applicable consult with the Fire Authority as per the relevant state requirements.
- Undertake site inspections and complete associated site inspection records.
- Attend project meetings.
- Provide documentation management including ensuring that job files and other office systems are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Technical management of projects.
- Ensure that invoicing requests are prepared in a timely manner.
- Carry out building code compliance inspections on behalf of and under the direction of the nominated building certifier.
- Assess project documentation and liaise with applicants making recommendation for compliance with applicable state building & planning legislation and the Building Code of Australia to facilitate the issuance of building approvals in a fast, courteous, and efficient manner.
- Prepare and send quotes to applicants.
- Manage and follow through of individual client base and marketing activities, growth and development of personal industry network.
You will also have:
- A relevant trade qualification or onsite construction management experience is preferred.
- The ability to work as a team player and work independently.
- Excellent abilities in priority setting and time management under pressure to achieve deadlines and commitments.
- Technical competence commensurate with the role and level of experience.
- Ability to check documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Experience in working to project deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
